Hi,

The answer is no. The pre-SE Esprits use a cast iron manifold of one design while the SE models and beyond use a different one. The later exhaust manifold has earned the reputation of being less than robust as it is prone to cracking and failing. This is thought to be the result of inferior casting. The early moel Exhaust manifolds can also develop a crack, it has been known to happen, but with the later one, this failure is much more probable. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

I have just had a new manifold put on my S4 but I had it ceramic coated first to help with the heat and corrosion issues. All in about 750 quid for the part alone !!!!!
Steve at SJ says that the manifold can get so hot it can melt the chassis galvanising !!!!!
