removing side marker lights?

Has anyone removed the side marker lights? I am painting the car this week...but I can not seem to get them off....as stupid as that sounds...these cars make my porsche seem easy to work on!

Your Porcshe is easy to work on.
88 US Fed side markers I assume.
M5 nut on the inside the body panel covered my a rubber gaiter or boot.
Front through a access hole in the front compartment.
I forget how the rears were try and peel back the carpet in the corners if not look under the car.
