If you are looking for profit/unit, it's probably in the $10k-$15k USD range. But, according to their latest published figures (2001), Lotus posted an operating loss equivalent to about $1,500USD per unit produced. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

You are equating the MSRP with the production cost of the vehicle. The dealer cost (the amount Lotus actually receives) is significantly lower than the prices you are thinking of. Jim'85TE

Makes sense. So it woudlnt be possible to buy it right from the factory and save a couple of grand?
