I want to say that the people on the Esprit Forum of PH has been doing such a excellent job in keeping it going with many new contributors posting. I am happy with all the people working on their own cars and enjoying the hobby.

The advice here is very sound and I post a lot less these days with all the good advice being posted here. It is still very satisfying just to read and maybe learn something new from you guys. I have less time to surf and post these days at work, so it's mostly after hours for me now.

Keep up the good work. You old timers know how little use the Esprit section of PH used to have just a year ago with only a few posts a week.

The technical talk is just about equal to many other sites without the flaming or snide comments that abound other sites. Many forming cliques with in those sites.

In fact this forum reminds me a lot of a list in the old days before it got so big and took off on it's own.

I guess this place is like a little town where everyone knows each other, as opposed to the big city where it takes something very little to start something very controversial.

Oh the other places are still good to visit, but with the high concentration of 4 cyl Esprit's people working on our cars here, this place is just fine for me.

Thanks for making this place a great place to visit and pass the time during our cold winters with my Esprit put away.

As a toddler to this forum with my newly aquired '95 S4, I am very pleased and impressed with all the info and friendship I see here. I also feel as if there is someone who can answer and direct me in the right direction. In short, I agree with you, Calvin.

I'm seeing your point more and more Calvin. I'm having to relist my question sometimes on the TE list so that someone could answer. Sometimes I get only one reply and other times I get 150 replies with a multitude of different answers.

BTW-My car seems to be running much better now.... or maybe I'm just getting used to how it ran before.. I'm still waiting on my "CarChip" to scan the engine. It was suppose to get to me last week.

Ed - Don't forget to get the high-torque ECU. I think you will enjoy driving even more with it.

Calvin -

I have noticed that you have been venturing into General Gassing as of late too. It's quite a nice little community over there as well.

Ernest,
Yes I have been visiting general gassing. I sort of like the way this site has broken out in different subjects. I do enjoy a good debate (sometimes very controversial subjects) and learn the thoughts of others in Europe. That way the Esprit site can stay on topic and away from inflamatory issues that belong elsewhere.

We Lotus people then can concentrate on our cars issues and not spout off at each other. We are a small group and we all need each other. It is in our best interests that we get along.

We recgonize each others screen name and somewhat know the accuaracy, intent, and credibility of those here. Sometimes with hundreds of people posting an answer either the orignal post get distorted or off topic.

Many times I also like to have an idea who is posting and click on the screen name to get a profile of our members to learn more about them, approximate location of where they live, what car they have, and what they have posted in the past. You can get a pretty good idea from the profile page.

Ernest, I started checking this site after recognizing your screen name on this site last year. At the time the posts were far and few in between. Very few people used to check this site often as it usually did not contain any new info, sometimes a week would go by. . I am glad this site has taken on a life of it's own and is now another resource for all of us.

Ed, I do expect you to be a V8 guru by the time I make it into the V8 ranks, if and when that time ever comes. You certainly will have a few years jump on me by then.

This message board is definately a good one. I figure by the time I obtain my Esprit, I will know exactly what to look out for, what to replace things with, and more importantly how to.
