Font used on esprit
Discussion
It looks bespoke. Perhaps the master (GG) designed it himself as part of the package. In other words, it could exist only for this purpose....a bit like Roger Dean's "Yes" logo or the Ferrari badge with the "F" extending across the whole word. The Ford logo is supposed to be a replica of Henry's handwritten name. Fender, Gibson, Sony VAIO, there's loads of them when you think about it. Some are probably established fonts or adapted whilst some are bespoke.....Dare I say it.....What about TVR ?
Sanj,
Actually that is I think closer to the turbo esprit ones (s3). I was looking more for the early stevens ones with the Upper case letter. I am trying to create some new emblems since I have problems with the original ones, keep catching the thin metal layer and bending.
Thanks,
Chris

...Actually, just because I found this interesting, the "Ford" font that appears in the blue oval was simply the from the plate stamp used(back when they were actually metal press blocks). The job was farmed out by Henry Ford Sr. and he liked it when he saw it. It in no way reflected his signature and came about on the whims of an unknown press operator... This was expalined on an episode of Car Crazy during a Barry Maquire interview with Edsell Ford...
Learn something everytime I lie around and watch TV (at least I try to get this idea across to the missus)

Sorry can't really answer your question about the STEVENS model transfers, but I have a black 1983 Guigiaro N/A Esprit S3 and my gold script transfers were shot. I was told by a leading Lotus dealer the last price they had was more than £30 plus vat for EACH transfer, (four per car) and they're not available any longer.
So I went to a graphics company & had the artwork redone. I had to buy a few to make it worthwhile and consequently have TWO full sets left. FOUR transfers per set each reading "esprit 3" They're gold in colour and the same size/shape as the originals.
If this helps anyone, or if interested give me a shout.

Oops, I missed the Stevens part. Do you have a picture of the originals?
