Car wanted for photos

Hello everyone, i am only new here, but i thought i would pop on and say hi, and also aske if anyone had a car that they would 'lend' me for some photographs, before you all panic, the photos will be done in either a studio or location, and will be static, and only done with the full cooperation of the owner, although there may be some female glamour models to add to the curves of the car.

I am based in Luton, although have access to a studio in Birmingham and also one local to me, as well as numerous locations that i am looking into.

I suggest you may want to get this cleared through the site owner:

If you contact him, he can probably make it happen and the types/numbers of cars available to you would astound you. There are certain people on PistonHeads that own some very nice vehicles (Even an F1 owner)

I would get it cleared through the owner first, though.

Let me try to put this in a way that won't hurt anyones feelings...

But, when did we Assign Piston Heads the Right to Offer or Negotiate my, or any other members, Vehicle for a Photo Shoot?

When did we, or what did we do, that would allow you to act as our Agent?

DeeCee - he has to ask the site owner permission to solicit, on the forums, for volunteers for his photos. The site owner does not act as your agent. If you are interested, contact him. Luton is probably a bit far away, however.

Point of information for all posters. While some of you may be accessing this site outside of the main Pistonheads page, Pistonheads is a much larger and more comprehensive automotive web site. It includes forums for a variety of subjects and automobiles as well as automobile related topics (and a nice "pub" style area for general conversation)

Your current access may be restricted to the Lotus and/or Esprit forums simply by where you are logging in from. If you have not already tried it, go to the Pistonheads home page www.pistonheads.com and select forums. Your userID and password will work there and you will see that it is a much larger site than expected.

The original poster of this thread started off in the PHOTOGRAPHY forum which has a lot of good tips on how to properly photograph cars.

The site owner will vet the soliciter first so that some unsuspecting member doesn't turn up in some dodgy warehouse somewhere and have their car taken from them by force.

Just being cautious.

Well, my father had more Lotus Esprits than you've had hot dinners mate, he used to be a dealer for them. Since when was it about who owns one or not? Are you saying people aren't allowed to post in forums they don't own vehicles for?

I am juat a Photographer, taking the advice of some other members from this site posting for some nice cars that people have, theer are 2 people oss PH that i have already shot with, and will back up what i say, you can see that i have a website, and would not ask someone to turn up to a warehouse without allowing them to check it out first.

I do however appreciate your concern, and hope that in weeks to come you will check back to my website and see some further samples of work including some of some nice Lotus Esprit cars, I certainly didnt mean to cause any arguements this morning.

I have already seen your (very nice) work as I frequent the Photography forum quite a bit. I was just trying to answer the question put, generally, so that people know why it's best to check with the site owner first. The reason was not directed at you personally.

Hi Ernest, Sorry if i came over abrupt, wasnt meant, i was just answering the general concencous from this post, like you, i was not directing it at you, and as i said previously, i fully appreciate yours and others concerned, i appreciate the money invested in the cars, as i have also invesed large sums of money in my camera equipment, over £8,000 to date, and still rising.

To Megy: If anyone took offence, I don't think it could possibly be your fault, so don't worry. I would think you would be having to fight any genuine enthusiast off with a sh***y stick if the chance of fame for their car was on offer. You are welcome to mine, but it's in Merseyside.

Perhaps I'm missing the point, but I can't see the problem here. Photographer wants enthusiast cars for pictures with the owner's consent. Where does he look ? On an enthusiast website of course. What do you do if you don't want to participate ? Easy ! Don't respond ! Taking offence at this would be like taking offence at the content of a TV show after 9pm when the TV has a perfectly adequate off button.

Like I said, You are welcome to mine. I would love to see my car in a magazine advert, calendar, article etc.

To Dodgy Rog...I was a member of Club Lotus for at least ten years before I actually got around to buying an Esprit. I too think that the important thing is to love the machine, not acquire enough money to own and run one. I willingly share the experience of travel in my Esprit with anyone who requests a ride. I regard it as a moral duty to foster such enthusiasm. I was once the dreamer who asked an owner for a ride in his car. These things are to be enjoyed by all, not just the owners. The fear of running into eletist "mine's better than yours" sects is the main reason I don't attend meets and rallies etc. I run an Esprit because I always have, and always will, love everything about them. If I was a multi millionaire, I would still run an Esprit. The value is in the fun,not how much money it makes people think I earn.

I remember your Argument Provoking Posts on that Other Forum and I also recall the member that you were being Aggressive towards, posting the same Exact Question to You:

He asked You the question for a Reason...why do you look to me for Your Answer?

I would love to use your car sometime, and i amnot only limited to working down this way, i am able to travel for nce cars, and yours def sounds nice, thanks again. will mail you with more contact details.
