Remote Door Lock Opening

Knowing the passenger side of my '89-non SE automatically unlocks when the drivers door is unlocked with the key, has anyone added the actuator on the driver's side and added the remote door unlocker receiver? I have lost the locking mechanisms of three driver's side doors from key and mechanism wear in my other cars and do not wish to pay another $300 to have the door mechanism changed. I plan to keep the Lotus tell I die.

Has anyone done this?

All my Esprits had/have remote unlocking that I added with the alarm system. I couldn't handle destroying the paintwork on the door handle fumbling with the keys.

I have an after market alarm and actuator in my 90 SE that unlocks the door. It works well most of the time. It does not work well in temps below 5F. I have to use a key then. I don't use the car during winter but have tried to open and close the door during winter storage
