Max length of ALDL lead for ECU

I hv spare pc which i wish to set up in garage to run Freescan on. As this is set up on a work bench approx 2-3 meters from car is there going to be a problem with this length of lead. Anyone hv a rig such as this or every one use short lead with laptop?

I don't think it would make a difference because there is already a longer ALDL cable located under the front dash that is a few meters longer than the one located in the rear compartment.

Hi,my ALDL-cable is more than 3 meters long.I use it with my Laptop and my regular PC.There is no problem with the length.
