I've just fitted a new carpet set in my 1990 Turbo. When I bought it about a month ago, the interior was very poor. Having abtained several quotes for recovering the seats and new carpets etc. they were all about £1500.00 all in. I decided to do it myself though never again. The old carpet was a real pain to get out, breaking up into small pieces because of the strong glue used. I redyed the seats, centre console, rear console, radio console and door panels. The results are amazing except I damaged the gear shift gater when refitting. The total cost was £400. The carpets came fully taliored courtesy of www.sjsportscars.co.uk who delivery world wide. My interior looks like band new except the head lining which I will atempt in the summer.

Superdave,

Do have have a website to track the work you are doing, so others who wish to follow in your footsteps may get some help and possibly avoid some pitfalls.

I haven't a web site yet, not sure how to. I can make all the necessary pages etc on my pc but don't know how to up load it. I should have about 2MB of web space with my service provider. Iam also a beginner at all of this with not having any mechincal or Lotus experience but Iam willing to attempt most jobs. That's why I bought it, for a hobby and to learn by others. It may not be a bad idea as it may inspire other beginers who haven't any experience like myself. After all, you have to start somewhere to become an expert.

Your Service provider should have a help page on it's website explaining how to upload your pages. With regard to the car I'm presently still searching (92 -93 High Wing), but I'm very much like you with little mechanical knowledge but willing to give most things a go. Once car is brought I'm going to keep a website with every thing I do on it. I've found a copy of the Workshop Manuals 88 - 93 and downloaded on to my garage computer the ECU stuff. In the early 90's ran a stock 88 turbo for 1 year before passing onto my brother with the only fault being electrical, dealer did all servicing and repair. My brother had fitted towbar!!! must be only one! it actually was quite good for towing his boat.
