Thats the Special "Arkansas Edition" Lotus Esprit...

I can tell by the Checker Plate Console.

It was designed that way, so that your Wife (who is also your Sister) could Stand on it and Moon the other Drivers with the Sun Roof Removed.

If its a "Concourse Build", the Right Side Head Light should Illuminate the Trees on the other side of the Ditch.

The Factory designed it that way for Night Time Coon Huntin...or as it was referred to in the Original Lotus Sales Brochure...the "Meals on Wheels Option Package".

If it has all the Original Paperwork...there should be a Coupon for a $1 Off a 24 Pack of Bud Light in the Glove Box...I would advise you to get on the phone to Barrett Jackson and reserve your spot...

i think the average american would be fooled by that stick-on part makeover effort. ferrari would never be caught with toyota celica parts so prominently displayed though.

Would you put a Mercedes badge on a Bentley or a BMW for that matter ? It's a Lotus. Period. Supercar in its own right. Why pretend that it is anything else ? IMHO this only cheapens the brand. It's like saying: "I'd get a Ferrari if I could afford one so I have had to put up with a pretend Ferrari and hope that most people will be fooled into thinking I've got a real one." Well here's the news: If they care about cars, they will see through the facade in seconds and if they don't care then it doesn't matter...does it ?

Seen this pic come up before, it sure is a shocker. Such a shame to have that tacky crap all over it.

What is this downer on the Stevens tail lights ?? I think they suit the lines of the car and are a beautiful demonstration of engineering at its best: find the best solution. If you can't afford to make bespoke lights, find some reasonable ones and design the car around them so that it doesn't look like the S1 and S3, ie, parts bin stick on whatever fits the space. I like my tail lights but even if I didn't, who cares, they are functional and about as far away from my field of vision as you can get !

Have always thought my original tail lights looked very average until I bought brand spanking new ones and what a difference to the look. No polishing marks and faded look anymore. Dont have to use any glossy products to bring up the shine. Have had so many comments on them to make it worth the while forking out

"lights, find some reasonable ones and design the car around them "

lotus boss: i bought a big box of toyota lights. let's design a car around them.
yesman 1: great idea. i love it.
yesman 2: me too. even better than the mazda lights we were going to use.
