Having read the recent posting on Brake upgrades I was wondering if the brakes on a 89 Turbo (non SE) would be the same as the SE model.

So I guess the best option is to change to the Brembo's from a later car then??

I know I would need bigger wheels for this but are there any other bits needed for this upgrade.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has done this on a car without ABS and what difference it makes.

Changing to the cross drilled Brembo discs using the same calipers is painless and you keep the same wheels. The caliper change out is where you will need a wheel change and spare tire wheel change also. If you use Wildwood calipers which are very good you can keep the stock wheels.

Does anyone know if you can get the wildwood calipers in the UK and are they better than the V8 Brembo caliper???

I have had reports they work as well as the Brembos's, The calipers are actually less expensive. So much that many just replace the calipers as they wear out instead rebuilding them. I know few that use them and swear by them.

Thanks Calvin,

Do you have any idea of the parts required or web addresses of people that have done this mod.

Also in in the UK SJ sportscars I have been told has AP 4 pot calipers that is different from the ones in V8's that will fit with the stock SE wheels. They are for the fronts only.
