Hi

I hope you can do me a favour. I found a S4s in Sydney for my wife and I am just wandering whether you could look at it for me?

The car is reserved, paperwork is done, all I have to do is sign it, but I would feel better if someone would look at the car first.

It's at Lamborghini Sydney, in Rushcutter's Bay.

It's a one owner car, 1996, only 12.5km!, yellow with black leather. Full service history, never had any misphaps, etc. Supposed to be perfect in every way.
I am buying through the Lotus dealer here, Barbagallo Sport - they are taking care of picking it up from Lambo Sydney and they got it for me for a really good price.
Anyway, if you can do that, please let me know.
Thanks.

ANDRE- ALREADY looked at it- BUY IT!

Actually I looked at it on wednesday- was considering trading up from my SE- very close decision- I was going to haggle the dealer (GAVIN- very nice guy) but low and behold he went cold on me- said it was another buyer from Perth!

I have looked at the car and will say it is very genuine, excellent condition S4s; it is every but the low mileage geniune pampered one owner car- clutch is nice and weighty, gearshift "click-shift" perfect- just like an s2000/mx5 ( a revelation after my SE).

$84,995 for 12.5K, 1997 model
There was a black 1997 that got wholesaled up to Brisbane (2months ago) that was 69,990 but it had 34K on the clock- oddly still being advertised here in sydney

Thanks for that

It's all done. It 'should' be leaving Syd tomorrow. Sometime next week it should get here. It will look good next to the black one

According to the VIN, it's a 1996 made and complianced in '96 as well. Genuine S4s too, unlike that black one that went up to Brisbane, which was in fact an S4 according to the VIN. I got this yellow one for $79k

If you guys are in the market for an S4s you should buy one now as the prices are VERY low. Why? There was a green/magnolia '95 in Melbourne which over the course of 6 months dropped in sale price from $100k to $74k. Car eventually was traded in for $72k and is available for sale. It's so hard to sell due to the colour. I am sure you know that BRG GT3s in Melbourne that's been for sale for over a year now. Nobody seems to like BRG.

So, that BRG S4s, brought the price down big time for S4s's accross the country. As such, a few people have sold theirs due to panic, and they sold them cheap. If you wait a bit, until noone is selling them anymore, the price will go up again. After all, right now an S4 is more expensive than an S4s because of this.
Gotta make you smile when the 1996 S4s book value is $128k

Also, I think you should be aware of a red 1995 S4s that's from here in Perth. Someone contacted me after they saw my Wanted ad on this site, so he is probably reading this. This was in November and he said that the car 'won't be ready for sale' until January. Ready for sale? Why, does it have to be put back together? I asked him where he's located and he said Perth, which I found strange as there was never any red S4s, S4 or V8 sold here, and none come to the club meets, etc. When I heard that, I said, Great! I'll come over and check it out as I am in Perth too! That was the last I heard from him. I guess he didn't expect me to be in Perth and available to look at the car. I emailed him several times since and no response, so... beware!

No, the cheap one is a S4s, also in Melbourne. Green/magnolia.

The one in Heidelberg is a GT3s.
In '98 Lotus in Australia brought in 6 GT3 with '97 manufacture plates. They added the wheel arches and OZ Futura's of the S4s, chipped the engine to 295hp, reskinned the seats only (the rest of the cabin is standard GT3) and then sold them as GT3s for an inflated price. They look like a S4s from outside, but they are not.
I've seen dealers trying to pass off one of these as better than a S4s or V8 of the era. Which I found offensive to my intelligence - why couldn't they just leave them as GT3???
Anyway, that green one in Heidelberg is one of those 6 GT3s. There's also a yellow one in StKilda - at least there used to be.

If you are looking to upgrade, definetely go for a S4s rather than the GT3s. Right now the price is better and you get a better car. Besides, there's also a couple of '97 V8's right now for sale cheaper than the GT3s in Heidelberg.

I just spoke to the dealer. That green S4s for $72k just got sold.

There's a black S4s on www.autotrader.com.au in Sydney. I don't know anything about the car, but just saw the ad.
