Well thanks for your responses to my prevoius thread RE: 1986 Esprit.

If this car does fall into my lap (guy wants to swap it for my Race Car) then I will use it pretty much everyday - park it in the street overnight - put 15k a year on it - and Maintain it almost all the time - to get the max out of it.

What do you guys think?

Don,

I also use my car almost everyday but dont have far to work and I think it prefers this. I used to have a slight amount of trouble starting it when I first got mine as it had not been used for a while and now it starts as soon as I hit the start.

You might find insurance a bit tough if you park it on the street. They are very particular about this, not so much from being stolen but vandalism. Depending on where you live you are taking a big risk parking it on the street.

Please don't park the Lotus on the street. What I and my friends have done is to rent a rather large storage bay big enough for .... well currently we have a sail boat in restoration, Corvair, VW bug (60 something), Volvo with 350 under the hood, boat jig for making Ski Riffic ski boats and now a Lotus AND there's still enough room for a major rebuild on the Lotus!! Payment is $360/month utilities included. You get 5-6 people in on the rent and you pay very little for a nice place to keep and work on your cars and other wild brain ideas. When I'm not working on the Lotus I keep it and my Firebird in a separate bay that is much smaller and cheaper but man do they look good in there together.

Give it some thought and again don't put the Lotus on the street.
