SUB £20K V8 - a myth?

I have a massive shortlist of 3 cars for my next car, and scanning the classifieds has put the Esprit V8 firmly on there as they seem to be available for around £20k. So the question basically is this: will a £20k Esprit V8 be a nail or are there genuinely good cars out there for this kind of money? If so whats the reliability / running costs like - comparable to a TVR Cerbera?

Possible to buy but be careful, some of the early v8 cars could be a major pain. Cerbie is a nightmare to run, I looked at a few of them but heard far too many horror stories from mates who have them. I would suggest looking at the v8 only if you really know your stuff. Alternativly go for an s4s. looksthe same, handles as well and will still outdrag pretty much anything. They are also reliable, simple and if looked after have loads of life. I hve owned a v8, am on an s4s now and I can tell you the difference is not that great.
