A few months ago I really started listening to several podcasts. Its a good way to keep uo to date with stuff you are interested in. Anyway, I am wondering if there is enough interest in a Lotus catagory podcast and maybe even a video cast. I was thinking of maybe 2 per month to begin with. Maybe alternate between video and audio. Topics would be mainly Esprit, but could cover Lotus in general and other related topics. A regular item could be discussing the recent posts on the forum. Forum members would be the main source of interviews etc. With the recent advances in voip, like Skype, it would be fairly straight forward to put together. With the introduction of the Elise in the US and the upcoming new Esprit, I think there will be some interest in it. Well, any comments welcome.

Hey,

You should post this on the other Lotus forum too.

Its on the other forum too, and here is some more info for those of you going "Huh?"

Basically a podcast is just an audio file (usually in mp3 format) of something other than music. It can be listened to or watched on your computer or any device that plays mp3's. You can download the file manually by going to the website it is on, but there are also programs (one of them is itunes) that you can use to "subscribe" to the podcast and it will download it automatically when a new episode is released. I subscribe to several technology podcasts and listen to them at work on my mp3 player (which isnt an ipod). Bascially think of a podcast as a talk show, tv or radio, that you can listen to anywhere anytime. I particularly enjoy listening while in the car on my daily 45 min commute to work. It is nice being able to listen to content that you learn from as opposed to music all the time or stupid DJ's that try to be so witty.

Think of it this way, would you like to watch a bi-monthly or weekly tv program or radio show that was specfically about Lotus, had info about upgrade, products, maintainance, events, and other topics that come up on the message boards etc?

Here are 2 sites I use to browse the different podcasts out there. www.podcastalley.com
www.ipodder.org

Anyway, it would include discussions and just chat about Lotus, specifically the Esprit, with forum members, possibly some of the people at Lotus, etc. If it could progress into a video cast, we could actually have members send in video tapes procedures of the more tricky mods and maintainance issues.

If you still aren't sure what the point is, here is a link to one episode of a podcats I listen to (that isn't technical but is pretty funny) http://media.libsyn.com/media/whitecollarr..._Episod
Just right click and select save as. Once downloaded, just listen to it like a normal audio file.

We'd be interested in helping promote it if it gets recorded.

Interesting technology. Kind of like RSS but audio. I might be willing to dedicate a section of the espritv8.com website to this if it gets off the ground.
