Oooh, tasty... and that's just the car

I always preferred the Eclat to the Elite and Excel: I know the Excel addressed a lot of issues but the original has nicer looks (lighter cant rails and bigger windows).. I almost bid on two on Ebay last year. IIRC the most expensive went for around £450 and was a runner. OK so major engine probs can make a cheap car uneconomical and the early chassis crumbles faster than a New Year diet plan, but what the hell? Someone has to save these cars...

I have a mate that just purchased an S1 (number 39) in the UK and is having it ground up restored prior to shipping it over to the US early next year. I can't wait to see it. He even has some of the original "tartan" fabric to refurb the interior.

He's normally a Ferrari man. Nice to see that he actually does have a modicum of taste deep down inside

Very nice. Is that Max or Maya? Any chance you'd want to share the models? I played around with building an S3/turbo in Wings, but only got about 1/4 of the way done before I gave up.

i have a rough S3 physics model i measured off my own car. i'm using it in matlab to do windtunnel simulations. i'll share the model file eventually, once i get proper wheels and undercarriage on it.. took me ages to get the body dimensions and angles correct, even ignoring the radii and fillets.
