Perhaps SJ Sportscars either have some in stock or could put you in touch with someone who does?

Have you asked the factory. They seem to keep all kinds of stuff. In the last parts shop sale, there were some "Turbo Esprit" decals.

My friend has just had a load of Esprit S3 stickers done in gold from a local printer. I think it cost about £30 and he had loads printed. They are all in gold but I guess they will do any colour.

Hi deecee,
Craig was taken into hospital last week, hence no reply to your postings. I'm the person who had some graphics specially printed for my own car, and was also the one who had the alternator problem.

Firstly, the graphics I had done were "ESPRIT 3" decals in the original shadow style font which are located BEHIND the rear wheelarch and probably not the ones you're after as you said INFRONT of the rear wheelarch. Perhaps you have a Turbo Esprit or a later model (mine's an 83 N/A)I only have a few and they're only in GOLD. Unfortunately they're £6.50 each single decal. Priced at this only to recover the artwork costs, not for any profit. I have eight remaining - four per car. As your's were Red/Gold I think we're maybe at crossed purposes, but available if you're interested.

Secondly, my alternator. Why do you think 70 amp isn't big enough ?? That's a massive output to drive just 2 windows, 2 pop up's, a HRW and A/C compressor. A 70 amp unit came off the car but Paul Matty can't tell me what the factory output rating is.
What output do you think it should be ????
Thanks for your response.
Regards
Howard

The standard alternator is 70 amps.

The Experts felt that due to the Bosch Fuel Injection being "Voltage Sensitive", it should have at least 85 amps...preferably more.

Just a side note...the reason that the batteries are being drained in the S3, after sitting awhile, is due to the Clock mounted above the Rear View Mirror...I spent one Saturday afternoon systematically unplugging the wiring harnesses with a meter, in order to find out.

Hi deecee,
Thanks for your reply re the alternator. However my car is a carburettered non turbo, hence no injector system, and 70 amp to my mind is overkill in the first place. Anyway, I've sourced an identical 70 amp Motorola, the same as the one that came off....and that was original equipment. Fingers crossed it'll work OK. Seems alright at present, volt meter reading a stable 13-14v. Never had any discharge problems due to the clock, but then again I haven't had the car that long.

I did see an E-Bayer who does "ALL" Esprit sticker versions EXCEPT the S3 shadow font I wanted, but I can't recall his name, hence my need to get new artwork done for my car. An E-Bay search on Lotus Stickers or Lotus Decals may turn something up. Sounds like your car is a Turbo model anyway with 2 tone decals.

Thanks again, all the best.

You're right...if you don't have the Bosch Injection System, 70 amps will be OK.

Thanks for the advice on the Decals.
