Black Esprit in St Helens !?

Spotted at 8.45am Monday or Tuesday this week heading out of town. Gleaming black, new shape, didn't see for long enough. Possibly GT3 or even NA. Was it you ? Looked absolutely beautiful ! I thought: "Imagine driving a car that looks like that !"... Then I realised that I was !!

That would be Colin, he lives in St.Helens. He owns a V8 GT in black with no wing (I think) Also has quad tailpipe and dump valves.

Take you out in mine if you like, I work in St Helens. Where are you and what car do you have ? The black one looked beautiful beyond description, never seen a black one look so good ! Absolutely gorgeous ! A credit to its owner. Anyway, let me know if you want a quick spin when it gets a bit drier.

Min's a red '97 V8 by the way and I've recently taken the wing off for good reasons and it's so much better now ! If you see me (8.40am heading from Prescot (Carmel College) to the town centre) please give me a wave !

Dave, Could you find out what time Colin normally drives on the roads in St Helens. This might sound childish, ...but...I have done about thirty thousand miles in my Esprit and only passed another Esprit three times. Once was Colin, once was years ago and gone in a flash and the other time, I'd only had the car a few weeks, a S3 turbo approached from in front..I got so excited that completely forgot how to work the headlights and horn and ended up with hazard flashers, fog lights and a clean windscreen ! Please give me someone to wave to !!

Toyroom, You drive from prescot to st helens passing carmel college every day? Well i can confirm that you've passed an esprit everytime you've made that trip!! Oh and i've seen you!!! - Big brother is watching......

I saw a red V8 once in St.Helens about two years ago when I had my 1990 carb turbo in Yellow, I did flash (I think). It was on the by pass from Maccy's to M62. It wasn't you was it?

Nope. The Esprits I have passed were a red N/A, asilver S3 turbo and the black one last week. So where is the Carmel one.? Is it on the road moving at that time or parked up ?

Parked up! - For the moment anyway, V8 for reference. Colin's is usually outside.....

Scoured every driveway from Carmel to Asda and saw not a whiff of an Esprit !

It's really sad I know, but I get to wave to Jon or his dad on some mornings now that I know where they are. Really sets me up for the day ! Is that sad...or special ?
