Looks a nice car, but you're asking a LOT of money for it!
Good luck,

Errrrr !
Esprit with Connely leather interior = nothing special (most do)
it has a lotus engine = Are you having a laugh?

40th anniversary edition, all that gets you is pearlescent paint and a plaque inside

Your asking £23,000 for a 1989 car.
I think you'll have it for sale for a very long time.

Looks like a clean car.

Not sure what the market is where the car is located, but the seller can ask whatever price he wants.

In the USA the price he is asking for is what one normally pays for a top condition low miles S4s or early V8 money.

I suppose everyhting costs more in Europe than in the USA.
I defer pricing of Esprit's to the Europeans. But from the responses on this forum it appears priced high.

...except Lotus! Elise $40,000 and Exige $50,000 in base spec' are eye-wateringly expensive in USA and priced pretty much in line with Boxster/Corvette.

Speaking of which; why does the US Exige have its roof air intake closed off?

Sorry! but a lotus engine in an Esprit is NOT a special feature.
Maybe where you are cars are priced this high, for £23000 in the UK you can get a
damn near perfect S4s
a 1999 GT3 with a few grand left over
a 1999 V8 GT-SE

You can ask what you like for your car but it depends if you actually want to sell it !

P.S
If anyone want to buy my 1995 S4s 58,000 miles on the clock in Lotus Racing Green with special see through windows, I'm open to offers over £95,000 or Eur156,000
Also, it's got a Lotus engine..............................

Well the Elise here goes for $43K but we pay straight sales tax without VAT and your registration fees that I have heard are quite high depending on the country. Not sure what VAT, sales tax, and registration is on a car there but it seems quite excessive and high from all the complaints I have heard.

Not sure why the roof intake are closed. Not that I have ever seen a street Exige before.
The only Exige I have seen were ones that imported for off road use and came with a roll bar.

Price could effectively be considered as high but...when analysing the Esprit found on the market, are you sure that:
-you 'll have the full history of the car?
-the car is like new (not only the look but also engine, brakes, clutch,...)?
-the car has really poor mileage?
The answer to the 3 questions is YES for this car. Despite some comments about the limited edition, it is true that only 80 cars were made. Concerning Connolly leather, only awared people are able to appreciate the quality (I don't think that Connolly leather is still existing. Anyone knows? But I can tell you that it is the best leather ever made, you'll find it in the greatest UK cars like Rolls Royce, Jaguar,...).
It is also true that the price is high compared to the UK prices: the reason is understandable, UK cars are right hand driven and you can only drive easily in UK. All other European cars are left hand driven. Would you buy a right hand driven car for the US?
I'm also convinced that the one who buys such a car today (around 30000€ or $)will sell it for the same price within a few years: the value won't change a lot.
I'm not sure that the selling price will be reached but I'm sure that if anyone won't offer me enough money, I WON'T sell my car!
Lotus Esprit is a marvelous car!
Best regards to you all!

I live in Belgium and the price asked for your Lotus is rather high,
I think 20-25.000 EUR is a more realistic figure...

IMHO, something just below 20000,- (maybe 19500,-) IS the price you will get for that Esprit in the European market.

you forgot to mention "toyota tail lights"

if the car was fully restored and showroom condition, then <40K euros would be a bargain. not the car for me though.
after all these years, those toyota lenses still look awful to me. what were lotus/stevens thinking?

Well, I dunno. I had a look see under the hood this morning and I can definetly say that my 1989 Lotus Esprit Turbo has a Lotus engine in it also. Was this a factory option?

"...or written by a complete moron!"

given lotus hasn't produced an engine this decade, it doesn't do any harm to point out the lotus engine; wouldn't be obvious to the average citizen. i thought dr. hess was a veterinarian.

Well, I do sew up the critters when they have boo-boo's, but I don't think that makes me a vet.
