I am restoring a 1978 Lotus Esprit S2 and would like to update my 907 engine by replacing the dual Stromberg carburators with a fuel injection system. Does any member of this forum have done such conversion or know how to adapt a fuel injection system to a 907 Lotus engine? I will appreciate any information that can help me accomplish this conversion.

Someone on here put a Megasquirt on his 907, I think. I would think about that route.

Hi Dennis

I have done a EFI conversion using a MegaSquirt on my 1981 S3 (is a 912 2.2 ltr but the engine is pratically identical).

Probably the easiest way to do it is to get a Delortto inlet manifold and fit some DCOE throttle bodies as this will require little machining but is a bit expensive.
If you feel like a challange and don't mind doing a bit of metal work then you could keep the Stromberg manifild and graft on some motorcycle throttle bodies as these can be obtained vey easily.

The MegaSquirt bit is relatively straight forward and I could probably help out a bit there with basic fuel maps etc.
The system is very DIY but dirt cheap and you learn a lot in the process.

Have a look here ........ www.lotusespritworld.co.uk/EModifications/Giugiaro_Fuel_Injection.html

This should get you started, if you want anymore info or questions let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Have you thought about installing Dellorto or Weber cars instead? Much easier conversion then the fuel injection system (Lous actually put Dellorto carbs on some later S2) and increases performance dramatically. Not to poo-poo your injection idea, just a thought.
