Any of you chaps changed a radiator on a Series 3 turbo?

Mine leaks.

Do I need to remove the whole radiator cowl and the oil cooler assembly, or will the radiator and fan assembly come out without disturbing the cowl?

Thanks...

I changed it on my 88. I left the oil cooler and condenser in place. I removed a few bolts but not all. Just enough to slide the rad. out. I installed a new custom built rad. Car never gets above half now. I also removed the stock fans and installed high speed fans. I think I have pics somewhere of my mod. Let me know if you want to see them.

Any idea where I can get a custom radiator made for my '90 SE? My car has sustained minor front damage and the Radiator is junk. Looking to replace it in preparation for next summer.
Thanks,
Ryan

I think a lot places local to you can re-core a radiator unless it is so trashed that a new one is needed. I recall when Ed Gomes had his 89 SE he mentioned he got a triple core radiator installed in his car. He reads this list and hopefully he will respond if not, I will email him and find out where he got his.

Ryan,

Look for a Hot Rod or Customizing shop in your area. They either can make a radiator for you or direct you to someone who will as they are always having to come up with custom ones to accomodate some of the engine swaps common to these cars. Shop around and I think you'll get a better than stock radiator at equal or less cost than stock replacement. There is an excellent custom radiator shop here in Minneapolis, a one man operation, whom I have used and will again. I'm sure you'll be able to find similar ones in your area. Hope this helps...Jim '85TE
