Any ideas what might cause a burning smell from the back right wheelarch after a speedy run ? Smells like burning friction material, goes after standing for 2 minutes and comes from this arch only, not the other 3 or the engine bay. Last time I experienced this it was with a MB 190e 2.6 and got all kinds of suggestions from gearbox leak to worn bearings. Turned out to be a plastic bag melted on to the exhaust !

Jack that wheel up and try to turn it. Might be a sticking caliper.

Agreed. It's almost certainly binding brakes.

To silver12R, I'm in merseyside, UK
Don't think brakes are binding and carpet is unscorched, the tyre is not abraded or touching anything. Brakes are also wearing evenly and there is no blueing of the disc or excessive heat in the region of the disc when the smell is present
