{sorry, it's not pics of me}

One of Marcus's Cats

=========

They turned up Friday, fitted by Saturday Coupled with my Lotus Sport exhaust - she sounds fookin wicked. Wooshy, bangy, roary Plus they look like they aint gonna fall to bits - which will be a bonus

I changed the 4 lambda sensors at the same time, she is now running nice and smooth, where before she was a bit uneven particulalry under part throttle.

Very nice!
You said the sound is awesome.
Can you post the sound?

I like a good sound but I also hate a noisy/loud sound.
Can we hear?
Must be noisy huh?

I agree, I cant stand noisy cars either. Inside she's no noisier than before, though I think this is mostly due to the fact that everything is behind you. Pottering round town she isn't very much different either. Then you let her rip

I'm trying to get some sort of recording sorted myself, cos I wanna know too

2 reasons;

1. Cos she's been running a bit 'not right' at part throttle for ages. Lambda sensors are a lifed component and start reading lean, causing the engine to run rich. Seeing as I've already done air filters, sparks, HT leads and coil packs these were next on my list.

2. I'd wanted to change the Lambda's ages ago - I woz gonna swap the fronts for the backs to see if she was any better, but couldn't get the buggers out for love nor money. So now seemed like a good time.

I realise I coulda left the back ones as be, but for the cost of an extra 2 and a saving of the hassle of getting the little feckers out I decided to do the 4.

OK, I can understand 2.

I have the Stcok Lambda, which is a component of the Delco System and I've added a Second one, which I use for Diagnostic Purposes and cap off when not in use, but why 4?.

Is it a V8?

Ahh, I understand the question now

Yeah she's a v8

The cat in the pic is one of a pair, there's one for each bank. They have 2 lambda sensors per cat pipe - if you look at the pic of the whole cat you'll notice the 2 threads, one each end. The inner one is used by the ECU for fueling. The outer one is post cat, and as far as I'm aware does bugger all on a UK car {which mine is} but on a US car makes sure your cats are working

Got Ya...here I thought I ran across something New and High Tech.

Kind of an Expensive way of finding out whether or not your Cat is working, isn't it?

Is there a better option?

My state doesn't actually check emissions any longer for '96 and newer cars. The car tells them if it's compliant or not. Pretty neat.
