I was a little bored today so thought I would clean out my old VHS tapes. I ran across my tape with a Lotus Esprit advert on it. So, I pulled it over to a DV tape (I have a machine that does that) and then washed it through a couple of filters in Premier Pro and converted it to 16-9 widescreen.

After that I created a smaller version for your enjoyment:

I know that there are other copies of this on the net, but this copy, hopefully, looks a bit better.

This is awesome ! How do I get it on to DVD Video ? If you can't do this, would you lend me the tape so as I could make us both a DVD ? I think even my wife would buy an Esprit after seeing that film, amazing !

For anyone that wants to do this, I will make the .AVI video available for download shortly. I will post back with the URL that you can right click and then save (IT IS A HUGE FILE SO BROADBAND IS A MUST). I doubt if Lotus will have issues with that as it was designed as an advertisement in the first place, they are just not having to pay for the advertising.

Right...

For anyone that wants it, simply right click and "save as" on the following files:

US NTSC 29.97fps 720x480 widescreen standard MS-AVI:

About 368 mb. The file extracts to a 590mb avi. Zip password is "chapman"

UK PAL 25fps 720x576 widescreen standard MS-AVI:

I compressed them to help people that may have lower bandwidth connections. However, if you have higher speed broadband or are having trouble with the zip file, just change the ZIP extension to AVI as I have also left the original files available. WARNING: don't try to stream the AVI's as they will not stream well (as with any AVI's) because the bit rate is about 1536Kbps.

Edited to add: You can't tell, but on the UK file above there is an underscore between EspritAdvert and pal : EspritAdvert_pal.zip...
