I was wondering if anyone could be kind enough to help me out by recommending some good tyres for my 96 Esprit V8. It currently has Yokohama fitted and the fronts need changing, but I have been very disappointed with their performance especially in any conditions other than hot and dry, and so I will be changing all four. Cost is a consideration (when isn't it?), but life isn't really a concern due to the minimal mileage I do. Thanks, Alex.

If snow is not in your future, then the best cost/performance tires I have come across (and I have used Dunlop 9000, Bridgestone PP SO3, Kumho 712, Michelin MXXX3, Bridgestone R700 and BFG KDW2) are the ralatively new Kumho Ecsta MX. Reasonable price (here ins the US) and outstanding handling in the dry and the wet.
Good luck,
Paul

I have used the Pirelli Pzero Rosso on my V8 wheels, and I can't really recommend those. Mine only lasted 6000miles, and I had a front tire with a molding defect. other than that, they gripped well, and worked well in the wet when new.

Now I have a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Gs-D3, and will put them on this weekend. Hopefully they are better than the Pirelli's.

I've run dunlops and bridgestones, now have goodyear eagle f1-gsd3 which seem pretty good. Worked out 460-ish for the full set from mytyres.

Thanks for your replys. From these and from searching through the forum, I have a list of what people recommend: GoodyearEagle F1GSD3. Toyo Proxes T1-S. Michelin Pilot sport MXX3. Kumho Ecsta MX. I shall check out how these compare price wise, and make a choice. I'll let you know how I get on. Any further recommendations or warnings against any of the four listed is still welcomed. Thanks again.

In case anyone was interested, I opted for the Goodyear F1's in the end. My local shop had difficulty in locating many manufacturers that still readily supply the size required for the rears on the V8, and Sinclaires of London alsio recommended the F1's and they were available so that's what I chose. I'm getting the car back from it's service on Saturday and having them fitted then. I hope it/'s dry!!
