Decided to fit a set of air horns to the car for a laugh (and to give me something to do) Would anybody be interested in the method ? (You know, I'll take some pictures for the upgrades page) Anybody else done this so far ? Are they legal ??

Fun with horns!
I know a guy that put an "OOOOGA OOOOGA" horn on a Ferrari! It is quite funny...

Article on my site. Not many pictures, but there is a product that you might want to look into. Doesn't require tubing or a seperate compressor...

Air horns, that's hysterical, I can only imagine the strange looks you must get when you hit the horn, you should put up some video with sound. I haven't made my Esprit purchase quite yet, but am very close, hopefully by the end of the year. Anyway, in will go my red and blue flashing lights, strobes on the back deck and strobes in all the lamps around the car as well as a 200W siren as I still do Paramedic response for my ambulance department. Go to figure out a way to mount my VHF and UHF radios though. It should be alot of fun responding code 3 in my esprit.

The standard Esprit horn sounds like it came out of a Buick. The one from Griots sounds almost like those that you find in a Ferrari 550, 328, etc (If you watch the video of my site called Celebration Exotic Car Show 2005 there is a sequence were my friend, in his 328, ducks into a gas/petrol station. We press the horn and wave and he responds with his. You can kind of make a comparison, taking into consideration the doppler effect as we drive past).

Bottom line, as they arrive from the factory, the modern Esprits do not sound like exotics/supercars horn-wise.

Personally, I think the best horn setup I have ever heard was on my 1972 Caddy CDV (RIP). When you honked that one, it had real authority. My Mother-in-Law's LS400 is almost the same.

My Esprit's horn is identical to the one I had in the Europa. More of a Fweeep-Fweep than a "Get the F out of my way!"
