Some weeks ago I posted a problem with the heater flaps acutator after some excellent advice from this forum i tracked down the proble to a little black polyurathene tube just in front of the heater box up behind the dash after much cursing and swearing i eventually got it connected again and the problem was solved however just recently the problem has just re occurred, sporadic at first but now no flaps working to either the footwells or windows at all.
all connections seem to be intact... anyone any ideas? where does the vacume feed come from ?

The line travels through the sill and to the left side of the engine compartment. I would bet it is the cam valve that is the problem. If the cam valve moves even a 1/8 of an inch in the saddle clamp the flaps will not work right. The 2 air valves actuated by cams are found on a metal strap behind the radio pod. On cars with out the an air bag it can be accessed by dropping the fiberboard glove box liner out the bottom by removing the screws inside of the glove box and by carefully folding the sides of the liner inwards. If you need a new valve it cost me about 15 or 20 USD a few years ago. A small white plastic part with a plunger on it about 1.25 inches high.

Spot on.... The valve had slipped upwards in it's saddle (bracket) and the cam no longer actuated on it enough. Pushed it downward with my finger and tightened the saddle voila heater works.
