Someone sent me a question about our club via e-mail but I had deleted it by accident. So here is the information.
We have at present 44 member/45 cars. Most of our members are from Minnesota with a few out of state members. We have most of road cars produced represented or at least the more common ones. It is not required that you have a Lotus to join just an interest in Lotus cars. A few members do not have cars and many have more than one. We all work on our own cars and rarely send our cars to the service center. We rally around our members cars and help each other work on our cars. Many of our members are recognized experts in a particular and belong to many advice lists. Our cars are some of the best examples in the USA. Many of our members are regional class winners in various race divisions. At LOG 22, our club had a very strong award count in the concours show. Someone said about 150+ cars were in attendance.
Aaron Courteau 1st Place 1968 Elan +2 (plus 2 class)
Calvin Hamada 3rd Place 1990 SE (88-96 Esprit class)
Bob Dreuschel 2nd Place 1998 V8 (Esprit V8 class)
John Oliva 2nd Place 1967 Elan S3 (early Elan class) Tim Engel 3rd Place 1980 Esprit S2 (N/A Esprit class)
Jesse Hartley 1st place Elan M100 (M100 class)
Jeremy Engel (son) 1st place Autocross (Esprit class)
Tim Engel (dad)2nd place Autocross (Esprit class)
Keen Young won 1st Place in the Best Photo Contest (a shot of his lovely wife Coleen sitting in his less than Concours Ready Esprit S4) and a 5th in the rallye. We welcome any Lotus owners/enthusiasts that are visitng the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to contact us so we may host a gathering to greet you, have a few drinks, and have a nice Lotus chat. Travelers assistance and repair is also available when a visiting Lotus breaks down while in our region.
Regards,
Calvin
