Hi I was wondering if any one can tell me the pro's and cons between the 1998 v8 and the 1995 s4s. I am thinking about purchasing one from A lotus dealer in chicago. And if anyone here is from the New york area that would be able to refer me to a mechanic or reputable dealer in NY that can repair espirits. Also if any one has had experience running the car in hot climates like Arizona if that effects the reliability at all?

Thanks,

Drive both and then decide. I got a V8 and love it.

4 cylinder cars

- turbo lag
- interior (personal choice but i prefer the v8 style)
- not as much low down torque
+ lighter car
+ may be easier for the home mechanic to work on?
+ easier to tweak?
+ cheaper to maintain

8 cylinder cars

+ bags of torque, all the time
+ less/no turbo lag
+ nicer interior
- more expensive to maintain

Does that help? It really depends on what your criteria are.

Do you work on your cars yourself?
Is this a weekend toy, or a daily use car?
How do you use the car (long cross country trips or short high speed blasts down twisty roads you know well?)

What part of NY?
2 clubs operating in that area.
Near the city and the other in upstate.
