For those who have been following Soup and his fastidious rebuild of his Esprit, then you may already know he has hit a problem.

For those that have not, then he's rebuilding an S2 Esprit from scratch, using some fantastic stop motion to show his work. It's a labour of love, with a hint of humour.

Anyway, it seems someone who was looking after his interior, has sold it (just a guess, he doesn't say), but he's down an interior.

If anyone knows where he can source seats, doorcards, dash tops etc, then please get in touch with him.

Seriously, it's a great channel and it would a shame to him grind to a halt......

Esprit interiors are always a challenge for restoration.

When Wheeler Dealers did an Esprit they ended up IIRC sourcing a "used" interior from S J Sportscars down in the SouthWest and getting it carefully cleaned up before installation. A leaking, aftermarket sunroof had trashed the original interior.

That was when an NA S3 could be had for a couple of grand. An S2 like George's when sorted is now 20k plus. Add this to an S2 is a lot less common than an S3 and you will see why you can't just get an interior cheap from a breaker.

Plus do you really believe wheeler dealers don't bullsquirt about their "restoration" costs.

Guess why his interior has gone missing. Sorting interiors in restorations is always a nightmare unless it's one of the usual suspects like Mini, MGB or E-Type where lots of parts are being remade. Only about 1,000 S2s were ever built and a significant proportion those will have gone overseas so 45 years later he's looking for a needle in a haystack.
