Hey chris... thanks for asking. We came through okay... some roof damage and some limbs down, but other than that nothing too bad. The way my house sits saved us again (...Ivan). People around us lost a couple large trees and most of the roofs on the street are gone. Hope your dad faired well! I think he is a bit west of me?

New Orleans is really bad as is the MS coast. Cruisin the Coast will not be going on this year... The 'experts' (Steve Lyons for one) has been saying for years New Orleans needed to plan for this... they did not. It will be a very long time before anything is where it should be there. There are several business and car clubs in Mobile that are putting together some plans to try and help the people in MS and New Orleans. I'll keep you posted on those efforts...

I really can't... wait... yes I can... believe the way SOME - A FEW - of those damn fools are acting down there - mobbing police and soldiers, raping, looting...
I really feel bad for the all the good people who got trapped. A good friend with the Coast Guard told me that they requested and were approved to arm their helicopters. (For those who may not know - this is a big deal as Coast Guard do not and have not ever carried fixed guns or door gunners on/over the United States).

Thank you for the offer to come down! I'd have taken it if I had to go another day without power. We got it back Wed AM and most everything is working in West Mobile now. My next door neigbor is from 'South' Vietnam (came here in 75') and he was complaining about how hot it is here! Hahaha... good to find humor in an otherwise not funny situation...

There are some before and after sat images on the net that really show the changes on the coast line. I'll post the link if I can find it again...
