Keng,

How long have you had the car and how long has it been doing this?

You said the pressure dropped to the red point. At idle or what rpm? What is the pressure when you rev to about 3500 rpms?

The stock gauges are known to be unreliable in a lot of cases and read low at idle which is normal.

If it's in the red when you are revving the motor then you need to confirm if it's the gauge or the pressure is really low. If it is actually low then it could be a number of things.

I think we need some more info at this point.

Cheers,
Jim

I'm so sorry for my english language.
This car I bougth in 1992 , used 16000 km..
ok now.
when the temperature is 90 c
rev at 1000 the pressure dropped close to red point.
rev at 3500 the pressure up to almost 1/3.]
I check gauge compare which analog gauge or another gauge (hks or defi) ,result is same .
check engine oil pump it's don't have any problem

i want to know oil pump it's must have mark? when to assemble

What brand and weight of oil are you running?

Is this a new problem or has it been this way for a while?

I don't have the stock gauges anymore so how about it guys, how do those readings compare with yours?

If I'm not mistaken it's supposed to be ok if the needle approaches the red zone at idle correct? (5 psi.min)

93.5 SE here.

I agree with jk. In the summertime, ty car starts out just over the half-way line of the oil pressure gauge. When warm, at 3k RPM it is just below the halfway line. At idle, it drops to near the red, but stays above it.

In the winter, or if the oil stays below 70 cel., my pressure at idle is near the last line.

All of this is based on my research normal. The 912 lives just fine with 5-7 lbs at idle.

Just looked back at the manual. Acceptable pressure levels are .3 bar at idel (or IN the red according to my rough estimation of where .3 bar is on the gauge), 2.4 bar at 3500 rpm and 3.5 bar at 6500 rpm. Mine does a littel better than that.

So, given this, I think your pressure is fine. Note also that the guage is notoriously inaccurate.

Hi Keng,
Believe me, bring your SE and your stock ECU to Sert's garage. You will get your real british horses back at minimum cost.
Cheers

I'm not sure he is the same Otto I knew. Where is his garage? Otto that I knew used to have garage at Sukapibhal 1. He plays a lot of gambling golf. And had caddy wife. If he is the sameone, I may be able to help you.
