Anyone parting out a 88-93 Esprit?

Calvin: The way I see it, it all depends on what a person is after. For example. I took my SE out to a local track for the first time last weekend. It has a 2.25 mile road course, and I had a BLAST!!! My SE held up very well against some real mussel – some of them full time racers. My two instructors had never ridden in an SE, and both they were amazed by the torque and acceleration. By the end of the day, ALL the instructors were talking about the 4 Banger SE, and they ALL wanted a ride. It was COOL.
But at the end of the day I was ALSO thankful that my car was still healthy and in one piece. And I thought to myself that it would be nice to have a car like this that was a full time racer – something that wasn’t as pristine that I could put at risk, and really press the edge of the envelope with.
My point is that if I were to do this, I probably wouldn’t start with a pristine SE that might cost $25K to $30K. I’d start with a much lesser car with a good suspension, back bone and running gear. And I probably wouldn’t care about minor body damage, or even if the title was blemished.
Now, bear in mind that my view on this is probably a little biased because I perform just about all the maintenance and repair on my SE. As a result, I am going to be paying a lot less for this sort of stuff than the next guy. Walt ’91 SE

Good point but a few of those guy's are some of the new members/lurkers from the list. Some of them want a car real bad. Just hope they put it back right or the next guy that one an Esprit real bad will have a suprise in it for them. Just hate to see the wind taken out of the sails of a new person that usually has a lot more enthusiasm than Lotus sense. Notice the rear wheel missing on the car that is just barely out of view and the others do not show that right rear quarter. These salvage guys are masters at taking pics that show the car with minimal damage even if that part has been destroyed. They claim 2K will put it back right. I don't think the insurance company will let a easy repair like that go by unless they are totally inept. It was totaled for a reason.
