Yes its a Rover V8.

Whats wrong with that engine, besides that it is not "correct" at all for the MY78 Esprit ... ?

Despite the incorrect front intake for a series 1, that is a stunning car. The S1 and S2 shapes look just beautiful from any angle.

I hope the gauges aren't really that green and it's just the camera flash.

The wood around the engine has to go; it looks like crap.

I've always hated V8 conversions on anything, but compared to the normal Esprit engine bay, that engine looks remarkably easy to work on.
