Heater controls lighting

Hi Kids.. While browsing thru the elec. manual, I noticedsome sort of lighting for the heater/air cond. controls. I have none. Is there some sort of back lighting behind the plastic plate with the printing ??

Yeah there is. The panel is partially translucent. There should be small light bulbs behind it that light up when you have the parking or headlights on. The first thing would be to check the fuses, then the bulbs. They are very sensitive to bad grounds too. Do the dash gauge lights work properly (dim etc)?

Yeah there a 3 light bulbs behind the panel, mine was the same ie no light. Most lightly the problems is the potentiometer on the dash and that is a pain in the ass to get to, best bet is do a little mod and take the power to the bulbs by another route

Or better replace the poti ;o)

Marcus.. I've had the panel off in the past and don't recall seeing any bulbs or sockets for bulbs back there. Mine may have been removed...Where are they located and how are they attached? Seems like there should be some sort of cover to direct the light at the printing. Does the " Turbo Esprit" glow also? I'm gonna rip into the problem tomrrow and report back on what I've found. Thanks for the help thus far.

Yep, the "Turbo" is supposed to glow.

The bulbs are accessed by removing the screws to the plastic panel with the "Turbo" logo on it.

Simply unscrew the bulbs without removing the plastic sockets.

Thanks guys..Just came in from working on the lights...Had to run a couple new wires...looks cool with the panel glowing
