Lotus lighters

Has anyone anywere purchased any Lotus cigarette lighters (the ones that fit in the vehicle in place of the factory ones) from: tvrdb03, Chris Darby?
I purchased 4 for appr. $117. U.S. dollars in May, 2005, but still not received them. He says he shipped them 3 times, by insured mail last time, but still no lighters.
Is he legitimate? Anyone purchase anything from him?

Well, I ordered one off him back in Oct last year.
It arrived in about 10 days, but he sent me the wrong size.
After several emails, I FINALLY got another package from him towards the end of December, about 10 weeks after I paid for the lighter in the first place.
The replacement though was not another lighter, but rather lighter parts, to make whatever size I needed, using the 'Lotus' logo that he sent with the first lighter.
But none of the parts that he sent me fitted the 'Lotus' logo he sent me with the first lighter.
After several emails, where he is telling me that the parts should fit (they did not at all), I just gave up on him.
You think that he could have just sent me a correct lighter as a replacement in the first place when he found out that he sent me the wrong one, and I would have been happy to send him the first one back.
Anyway, too much hassle for me and certainly a waste of time, so I just chucked the money as a loss and moved on. That's my experience.

Andecorp, PLEASE report him to ebay &/or paypal as I did. Although they will actually do very little, at some point reporting him may help. (PAYPAL'S SCHEME IS ACTUALLY VERY OFFENSIVE AND VERY LITTLE HELP FOR BUYERS. IF YOU DON'T FILE THE COMPLAINT W/IN 30 DAYS FROM FUNDS CLEARING, THEY DENY THE COMPLAINT. As with me, I assume w/in 30 days you were still waiting for the re-shipment, thus did not file a complaint. I am a State Court Judge; I am considering a class action against Paypal. They can not legitimately expect a claim w/in 30 days for international business.)
Jim, I did not realize Lotus made/carried these. I thought all Lotus had was the OEM like in my '87, which is not as nice as the ones with a Lotus logo. What is the phone no. or email where you bought yours? THANKS.

Didn't know you were specifically looking for ones with a logo. Mine was the oem one with just a flame or something on the front.

Oh, I have much bigger gripes with PayPal than this transaction, that's for sure!
Same, I didn't file a claim as I was outside the 30 days. And this wasn't the only transaction that this happened to.
Being a former trained lawyer, I really believe presenting a 30 day complaint period is really bogus. In reality, a buyer has no protection; all the seller has to do is send one phony message, "be patient, it's in the mail", and the 30 days is over.
Do you know where I could find a listing of people with complaints against Paypal? I can't do anything myself b/c now I am a state judge, but I will be a plaintiff against Paypal. Although I do not encourage lawsuits, unfortunately there may be only one way to deal with this bogus assertion of "protection for buyers".

judgea - if you want I can send you all the lighter bits and pieces that I got. You might be able to use them.
I am not interested anyway, as the lighter is all alloy look, and it would contrast too much with everything else in my car that is all woodgrained - apart from the usual panels in the S4s, I have the stereo woodgrained and the gear shift surround woodgrained, etc.

My company ships out of Australia, over 1,000 packages per week all over the world.
In the last 5 years, 4 packages have been lost - 1 Air Mail to Italy, 1 Air Mail to Canada and 2 EMS(!!) to the US.
That is it. 4 packages out of hundreds of thousands in a five year period.
I never buy the excuse that it was lost in the mail, because I know first hand how unlikely that is.

Not that was any doubt
because as I said - it is EXTREMELLY unlikely that mail gets lost. So when someone uses that excuse, I really don't believe it, especially when it happens repeatedly. I was actually hoping you could put the bits together yourself and I was just a clutz, but I guess it is a product fault.
