I have an 84 turbo.The temp gauge used to read 90c ish all the time when warm. Now it reads only 55c to 65c is that normal, I've only had the car about 6 weeks It is Fantastic!

don't know too much about the early cars, sorry. would guess however that if it used to read 90, but reads less now, that you've either got a faulty guage or sensor.

As you're down in devon, why not pop into see steve in sjsportscars - he'll tell you what is wrong.

Hi,

Sounds like your thermostat is stuck open, a very simple & cheap fix.

You can check this is the cas by letting the car idle for a good while & see if the temp rises.

Check the sensor or wire. Stick a thermometer in the header tank while the car warms up and compare the gauge reading to the thermometer. That will tell you where to look for problems

Or just count yourself lucky that the needle isn't on the other side of 90. Mine had a habbit of trying to touch the end of the guage until I got the heating sorted out.
