O2 Sensor, bank 2 - sensor 2
Discussion
Hi all,
Uk year 2000 v8 GT, I've been running some scanning software on it I notice that the number 2 O2 sensor on bank 2 isn't strobbing around like the rest, it's just sat there pretty static - which is a sure sign it's fooked
Am I right in assuming that this is the post cat sensor, it which case does it do anything on a uk car?
Secondly, will the 4 wire sensor pictured here www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/lambda-sensors.php do?
Cheers

Mine is exactly the same. The post-cat sensors have no function on a uk car - but the ecu checks they are there on start up. I would not bother with a replacement if you are not getting a cel. Mine's passed an mot like this without any issues.
BTW marcus has told me that the correct reading for post cat sensor is a constant reading. An oscillating reading could mean a failed cat, however due to the location of the sensor its only testing the first small metal element of the cat, not the main ceramic section, which could still be fine.
Hope that helps.
