Anyone know if the door seals off a 1988 turbo stevens esprit would fit a 1997 gt3?
the seals that push onto the body not the window seals

Dave,
I ordered replacements from Lotus for my X180 Turbo 1988 MY and the seals were about 3 inches too big, even if I tried jamming them in as tightly packed as I could, so I had the feeling that some cars must have had larger door gaps.
In the end I had to cut my seals down even after returning them to Lotus twice.
Sorry I can't give you a clear answer to your question, but that has been my experience.

Interesting comment as my Lotus sourced replacements were similar. The trick is to fit the right angled corner in first and then divide the remainder into each corner with the extra 3" allocated equally spaced around. It's a bit of a squeeze but it does go in if you work your way into the middle of each different plane. ie: if you had four corners divide the 3" so that you are only 3/4" over on each run to press home.

We thought we'd gotten the extended limousine version for both doors until being enlightened as to how to fluff them into place.

If you cut the seal when it shrinks you will have a gap.

I took apart the corner joint of the seal, cut out the 3 inches and reglued it. This was the only way I could get them to fit, despite trying to spread the difference. I haven't had any problems with gaps in cold weather as they're still a tight fit.
It's a wierd one.
