Anyone know where I can source a black diffuser (aerofoil) for a V8? it's the black plastic bit that bolts to the underside of the bumper and sits between the exhaust pipes.....

I'm told its the same one that fits for all V8's but not the S4 due to twin pipes

...I very stupidly managed to crack mine..... don't ask! :grumpy:

Can you not repair your one and colour code it to the colour of the car?

repair will be fine. i had one the same as yours but for the gt3. was changing to twin eit exhaust so i had 2 get the one end chopped of the re-moulded and sprayed silk black.
looks the mutz nutz. wouldnt know the difference
if you dont want to repair it sjsportscars do a fibre glass one but the waiting list is months. anout £200 i think. not 2 bad on price but you still have to get it sprayed.
hope this helps

I have a v8 rear valance that i was going to use for my S4s when getting a twin tail pipe conversion. Don't need it now.
Iam just about ot advertise it for £95 later this week.

Let me know if you want it. Lotus want £280 for one which is an absolute rip off!

thanks super dave I will probably take you up on that offer... it's actually a bit more serious as what I thought was just a knock to the valance has actually caused an engine oil leak somewhere too....

anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking the valance hit the exhaust and that has knocked into something else?

anyway... going to have to go the garage

how did this all happen I hear you ask?

parked up ... handbrake on.... 20 mins later it releases(cools) and the car runs down the drive into a gate post.

yep..I know... should have left it in gear too

I did something very similar last year, parked at the top of col du turini in the french alps.. would have been very VERY bad if it hadn't been pointing in towards the kerb ..

I have posted my little mishap regarding the handbrake a few times before, I ended up with the car in the middle of Marlborough high st whilst the Lord Mayors Parade, Oompah band and all, split and rejoined around it. Very emabarrassing...

Unfortunately not, I was too busy running up the high st looking to see why there was a red car just like mine 'almost' blocking the procession.
When I got there a few people on the pavement were laughing at me fumbling with the alarm fob trying to get the car away...

ok guys heres the latest.....

the prang has caused more than just superficial damage to the diffuser and has in fact caused

1/ need for replacement exhaust (due to damaged cat)
2/ oil leak in one of the turbos - being told that requires a new turbo.
3/ bumper/splitter damage

this is all covered by the insurance (classicline) but being told have to pay 20% towards the exhaust due to wear and tear

Jobs being done at Bell and Colville who are having trouble sourcing a new Exhaust (saying 8-10 week delay!)

anyone got any ideas / comments about all this???

I was under the impression that turbos could be repaired...

If it a genuine Lotus one then you're knackered unless someone has a Lotus Sports Exhaust. Alternatively, you can buy straight through pipes yourself and fir them. This does away with the back box. Christopher Neil charge about £110+VAT I think for the two short pipes.
Can't they refit your old exhaust until the new one arrives?
Adrian Mugridge has a spare used exhaust which I think he would let go. It's off his sport350.
I should be able to get you a new stainless steel copy exhaust for less than Lotus and in double quick time. E-mail if you are interested.
Main Dealers like to replace thigns these days not fix them.
I can get hold of both turbos but again they are used. As too are CATs which I can also get hold of. But you need new parts.

When you do get these parts replaced, make sure to keep the old/broken bits. Iam sure they are not that bad.

I can get hold of both cats but they are used. No real use to you at this point. If however they are then please e-mail me and I'll give you my friends number to contact.
Also PNM are doing race cell CATS any week now. Just waiting for delivery. They currently do CAT bypass pipes if you are interested? Their number is 0151 630 6101. Mondays are usually bad for them so keep trying.
