Rear Luggage Light Modification
Discussion
Look at this:
When you want to leave you rear luggage compartment open for a while (to cool the engine or do something in the compartment like fit an autochanger or something), most people unplug the courtesy light switch to avoid flattening the battery. With this microswitch soldered into one of the wires going to the main switch, I can switch the light on and off very easily. I leave the tailgate open for a couple of hours every night to aid engine cooling and to avoid constantly opening and closing the tailgate. (My car serves as a bit of a mobile office and is always garaged)I am always putting stuff in the car to take to work the next day so this is really handy. The switch cost about a pound from an electronics shop and anyone with a bit of skill with a soldering iron could fit it.
