My passenger tank is leaking onto the street and prior to this the smell of gasoline was intense.
Can someone tell me the procedure for getting to the tank and how to remove it?
The inspection panel underneath will come loose on one side only, (passenger) but the drivers' side bolts won't unscrew. they just spin. Can I get to the top of these bolts to hold them as I loosen the nut? How do I do that?
Do you have to be part Orangutang to remove these fuel tanks?

I don't want to remove the engine or loosen it at all. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? Thanks
My Car is an Esprit turbo 1991.

Well, Steve, you have one of the dreaded Things That Go Wrong. I have not R&R'd one, but I have read of others that have successfully done so without pulling the motor (the easy way). You will have to pull the intake manifold off at a minimum, I believe, and be somewhat skilled with Chineese puzzles. I think some have done it on the right side (passenger in the US) without lowering the motor, but it might make it easier. I forget, but I think I have seen reference to a gas tank R&R somewhere and I know I saw a G body how-to. Look on EFF and maybe Sanj's site. Just get after it and certainly don't drive it until you have it fixed. Esprit Flambeau is a bad thing.

I did my UK driver's side (right hand side). You have mail. Instructions and photos on www.lotusespritworld.com/EMaintenance/Tank_Removal.html

There is also additional instructions for the left hand tank by David Ellis. Hope this helps,
