a couple of methods (never done this on the lotus, but on a few other cars):
There is a specific "tint" available in a spraypack. You remove the lights from the body and then separate the lens(es) from the lamp body. Spray the inside of the lamp with light coats to the desired shade. Reassemble the lamp and refit to body of the car.
The result is very good.
A shoddy way is to mask the body and spray the outside of the lenses... however this will scratch and does not look smooth at all..
