Esprit Alarm systems

Since the '97 Esprit alarm system (according to Hethel is a GM 'Megamoss' system) is not Thatcham Cat 1, I suspect I will be required to fit another alarm.
Has anyone faced similar problems and if so what did they do?
Have seen an offer for a Clifford Concept 300 alarm that is Cat1 but can anyone see any problems in fiting one?
