Hello! First time posting on this board.
I'm in the market for Esprit and was wondering if there is any Lotus club in Michigan that I could join. I want to learn more about the car.

I've always wanted Porsche 911 and finally went to test drive... To my surprise, I did not like it at all. It was too refined and felt like driving a regular car. Thinking my dream was shattered, I looked back my childhood memory and realized that I used to play with Lotus Europe mini-car. This lead to research in Lotus and bought few books to learn about them (I had no idea there are so few books about Lotus in US).

Reading and visiting various Lotus related websites, I think I should be looking at either '98 or newer Esprit, or '94~'95 Esprit. Where else could I do more research? Please help! Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Let me know if that works for you.
I only met 2 esprit owners out there. One is the guy that put together the Esprit Police car and the other is James Hoffa (yeah that's his name).

Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. Looking at the message board, you seem like the guy knows a lot about Lotus cars. Could you recommend any books on "how to buy" Lotus Esprit? Also would you happen to know Jame's e-mail address? I really appreciate your help.

Best regards,
KS

The only book of the how to buy an Esprit is dated and the one I have seen only cover 4cyl. models. Use the www.epritfactfile.com for starter. It leans towards 4 cyl. cars as KFM the owner of the site is a 4 cyl owner. It has good basics ru;es about Esprit's that are easily translated into a purchase of other types. Email me and I will forward your message to Hoffa. He is related to that family name and will leave it up to him to return with his email to you if he so chooses. Seek advice from your local club for info about local dealers performance. Fox Valley is about the number one dealer in the US however.
