Hi,
Has anyone had the experience of a S4S motor that starts great, but the second that you go to accelerate the motor dies when cold.

Your car is all screwed up.
You must sell it to me for 1/2 it's book value.

Now I have had a good laugh. Let's go for the easy stuff.

Check the EBPV to see it moving freely. When it's cold grab the lever and move it back and forth. It's spring loaded but you should be able to move. When closed upon acceleration it should be able to blow open. If it has shifted and not centered the flapper will sometimes hit against the flange and not open up.

The cat could be coming apart and blocking the muffler perfs internally.

The secondary fuel pump may have gone bad.

Could be injector problems.

Did you try the usual stuff like resetting the ECU and checking spark plugs?

If you have freescan... Start the car, let it idle and get up to temp (82degC) then check the IAC # with freescan. it should be between 30-40, if not the car will often die as soon as you press the gas.

I also had that problem when my spark plug wires went bad. The car would start and idle fine, but I could not get it to rev at all.

just had a ver similar problem on my gt3.
try the speed control sensor(accelorator poentiometer). located on inlet manifold, simple to remove. 2 screws. u can soak it it isopropanol (alcohol) if u have any, not the stuff u drink!. or just sround it in wd40 or cleaning fluid. move it about loads while this is being soaked. it will clean the carbon track. then pop it back on and it should run like a dream. mine did.
hope thie helps
