Hi Everyone, I'm new to this board. I'm in the market to possibly step up in sports cars but although I've done as much reading as possible there's nothing like the feedback from owners who have had hands-on experience with the machine. My question is: those of you that have the S4, are you lusting for the S4S and also, are those differences externally upradeable to your car?
Currently, I'm driving a 3000 GT VR-4. I shopped all the twin-turbos (plus the NSX) and they all seemed to have the same amount of ponies (or less than 300) and less torque but more importanly I picked it out because of it's all-wheel-drive handling. It's my second one actually, after turning down the NSX - it just doesn't do it for me and other like-cars are beyond my price range. Now you may all laugh but I get more kicks from driving my old Fiero GT fastback I held on to. I like the two-seater feel, high center console/shifter close to my body, looove mid-engine, looking in the rear-view means looking behind the glass window and firewall RIGHT behind me, and being inches from the floor so I can see the road's detail..(sound familiar?) I always dreamed of combining the performance of one car and feel of the other. I wouldn't have dared mentioned this but the author of espritfactfile.com admits to owning both a lotus esprit and a fiero gt so we must have something in common =) In any case, I wanted to give a little background and introduce myself. I am heading out to test drive but I see good deals on S4 ones and don't want to pass up if the difference is not substantial to S4S ones, or if I should look for an S4S altogether. I appreciate it and hope to contribute in the future. By the way, has anyone gone head-to-head with a VR-4..just curious. Thanks.

Click on "Model Info", at the column to the left of the espritfactfile main web page, second one down. It has all the differences between the S4 and the S4s, and every other Esprit also. You can buy a new mem cal chip for the S4 that will make it close to the S4s for around $ 800. But you can also get a chip for the S4s that makes it faster still for the same $ 800. What is your price range?
