hp upgrade question

I had a 2000 esprit that had a 100 horsepower upgrade through some type of reprogramming done at the dealer in atlanta. I was told there are two ways to do this, one can be done anytime, one has to be ordered and can take over a year? how can I get this done to my 2002, and what is the process?
