Hi members, I'm planning to replace the stock exhaust system with a custom exhaust. Any suggestions on type/size of mufflers that should be used? The stock muffler is very long (~30" so it's hard to find a replacement muffer of that size. Also I'll be removing the EBPV while I'm at it. Is there anything else that needs to be done upon the physical removal of the EBPV in terms of the EBPV fuses/relay, resetting computer, etc....

Thanks a lot!!

check out my exhaust (www.karmavore.net) for some (hopefully) usefull info and a video.

Just be sure to stick a screw in the vaccum line that goes to the EBV, that's the easiest solution I think.

Best to remove the vacuum line from the solenoid to the EBPV completely and cap the nipple on the solenoid itself. Just plugging the end of the vacuum line still leaves the opportunity for a leak should the hose crack or something.

Uhhh, just open up the rear compartment on the trunk wall and unplug the electrical lead off the solenoid so it does open and induce vac to the line itself. No need to cap it off.

Hi,

After watching Karmavore's video I got myself an Aeroturbine. Found a new one on eBay for $110. I've just gotten my engine back in the car and only have had a chance to run it in the garage but it sounds awesome so far. Oh yes, no cat.

Cool... did you go with the 3" in/out model? Can wait to hear/see it. I saw HUGE gains with my new pipes. Hope you fair as well.

Lucas.

Nope, I was talked out of the 3", got the 2.5. I'm hoping to see great gains since I also had my turbo upgraded to T3/4. Boy that stock muffler sure was heavy, glad to be rid of it.
