Should the accelerator pedal be quite heavy?

Just wondering on a year 2000 v8 should the loud pedal be quite heavy, it's kinda comparible to the clutch pedal?

Being a dinlo and buying the first Esprit they'd let me get my fists on I've never driven another to compare against

I think they can be a bit heavy ....my 98 V8 was - I thought I was hitting the brake ; ) ... but lubricating the throttle mechanism , where the cable is attached to the engine , is easy and has helped immensely ...it`s O.K ish now ... but I`m also getting the garage to lubricate the hidden mechanism under the top cover , when it`s serviced next week ... so hopefully it will be very O.K then . I suggest you try the same .
